Your bookmarks are soooo cool!!!

What type of paper do you print your bookmarks on? Glossy paper? :-) And then cut them out?

Thank you so much! :boogie:

Usually it's smooth card stock that I print them on and then cut them out. I then hot laminate each one and trim them up. :D Hope that helps.

:D  Your welcome!!

Does it matter what brand of cardstock? I heard that a more than one cardstock.

Oh and is lamination hard to do by yourself? Is it very expensive to have someone else to do it? What tools do I need if I want to do it myself? (I am sooooo sorry for all of these questions! lol. :silly:

You're talking about what card stock to print on correct? Not what card stock to draw on?

And yes, there are many brands of card stock out there. I'm not sure it totally matters for printing unless you find you're liking one brand over another brand. Experiment to see what you like best.

I don't think lamination is hard to do by yourself. You need to find a hot press lamination machine and the lamination sheets. On the whole I don't think it's too expensive to do. I think it's actually more expensive to have someone do it for you. I'm not entirely sure though.

No worries about asking questions. :aww: Ask as many as you wish, I don't mind. :meow:

Yes, the kind to print on. For what I had heard and read from other artists, they say any cardstock is pretty good :-).

So far, I really like Bristol board paper. I wanted to try another brand of paper too that is suppose to be good for copics. I think it is called Bee Artist... or something like that lol.

I don't think I will be able to try that anytime soon. I just got a printer not too long ago so I am out of money. I just really want a bookmark. Or just draw one myself. :-)

Yep for printing I think any brand works.

Bristol is nice for Copics. I have marker paper as well and that's really smooth and nonporous. Most marker paper is really thin though. I'm going to try out some manga paper sometime soon I think. I also got some Bristol Plate Surface to try out. I hope it's a good paper for markers. :aww: Not sure I've heard of Bee Artist...hmm... I'll have to research that.

Printers for art are expensive! I would say come to Nan Desu Kan in September if you're close by! I'll be there with all my bookmarks and prints. :boogie: And I think you should definitely draw a special bookmark for yourself. :meow:

:-) Okay cool! I would really like to try to make a special bookmark :D. Do you think the bookmark would still last if I don't get it laminated?

Yep, they are. The one I use is pretty thick. I got the Bristol SMOOTH B-). That Bee Artist paper... I am not too sure if that is the name. I just remember a girl that looks like a bee on the front lol. It says at the bottom that it is recommend for Copics.

What is Nan Desu Kan? :-? :-)

Yay special bookmark! :w00t: It won't last as long since it will be unprotected paper. Although there are plastic bookmark sleeves out there you could put it in when you're finished.

Cool. Okay I think I know Bee paper. The covers look a lot like Strathmore's covers. I have seen them around. You can totally try out any paper that is recommended for marker or Copics. :D

Nan Desu Kan (NDK for short) is the local anime/manga/Japanese culture convention here that I always go to. I have a table in Artist Alley every year so far. :boogie: Here's a link if you're curious. [link]
